Spring is in the air! The sun is shining, the birds are singing and the temperatures are in the low 70s. At least these are the current weather conditions in Southern California! Last week while shopping at Target I picked up thesedish towels. They are so adorable and they freshen up of the kitchen perfectly. Which, got me to thinking, perhaps with the warmer weather on the horizon, it’s time I got serious about a wardrobe refresh for spring. Below are seven transitional items I’m LOVING this week.
It’s no secret, I live in a beautiful area of the country that has the perfect year-round climate. It’s never too hot or too cold. Yes, I live where so many go to vacation! As amazing as that may sound, I too need to get-a-way. What’s that saying…a change is as good as a rest?! With spring break upon us, I decided it’s the perfect time to escape. We’re in need of sun, sand in our toes, tacos and margaritas! Hmmm, sounds exactly like where we live. But nope, we are jumping on plane and heading to San José Del Cabo, Mexico for a few days – like it wasn’t obvious from the title. We are so excited to enjoy the weather and create new memories. But first I must pack! This is something I used to do with ease as a business traveler, but packing for a vacation takes a little more thought. There are some staples that will make the cut (like these espadrilles), but I feel the need to add a few colorful pieces – you know, to fit in to my surroundings – to my wardrobe. The good news for me, it’s not just resort wear. I can wear these things all summer! Here’s what’s currently on my lust list.
Love it or hate it, Valentine’s Day is only a few days away. Although I personally like to keep things simple – a nice bottle of pink bubbly to share with Brent fits the bill perfectly for us. And if I can squeeze in time to soak in the tub (even a uninterrupted shower around here is still very much a luxury) it really makes for a relaxing and romantic Valentine’s Day.
However, if I was going out for the evening – and budget wasn’t an issue, the outfit I would wear is below.
Yes, it’s black. Pretty much all black!
Here is the thing, everyone else is going to be wearing head to toe red or pink. So why not stand out?
Black is so damn sexy and sophisticated. Of course, since it is Valentine’s Day, I would add a pop of pink. Whether it’s on the lips or with this clutch, it softens the look making it less edgy, more playful!
Oh yeah, one more thing. Should you go with my suggestions, don’t be surprised if your amore asks to skip dessert and whisk you straight home!
